The Reserve at Lake Keowee is a private lakefront residential community located on 3,900 acres along 30 miles of shoreline tucked into one of the most beautiful and untouched regions of the Southeastthe foothills of South Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains. A variety of waterfront, mountainview, golf course, estate, and conservation homesites, and custom homes are available. Ideally located just two hours from Atlanta or Charlotte, The Reserve offers a family-oriented setting with a focus on outdoor activities including golf, tennis, boating and nature-oriented activities among its array of on-site amenities. Those include a Pool Pavilion with two pools (and a second pool complex on the way), Racquet Club (with Interim Fitness Room), croquet lawn, kayaking, boating, fishing, and miles of marked hiking trails. Turkey Ridge Pavilion offers a covered picnic area, basketball court, horseshoe pits, volleyball, badminton and a field for softball and soccer. Greenwood Development Corporation of Greenwood, SC is developing the community. They have been a leader in the creation and management of resort communities in the Southeast United States since 1978. Among many other projects, they developed Hilton Head Island’s Palmetto Dunes, recently ranked the #1 family resort in the world by Travel & Leisure Family magazine.

Our vision from the start was to build a place for families. A place like that hearkened back to the neighborhoods of days gone by where children played freely and neighbors gathered at the village center. A place where memories would be made. Where parents and grandparents and children could find common ground in a lifestyle rich in the legacy of the land and its history. A place where the outdoors could be enjoyed freely in a lifestyle that will be handed down from generation to generation.
The mountain/lake setting of The Reserve fits that vision perfectly. On the shores of Lake Keowee, a Village is emerging that is the heart and soul of the community. It’s a place to gather, to play. It embodies the natural beauty of its spectacular setting. Here you will find the clubhouse, the Pool Pavilion, the Racquet Club, the Great Lawn, golf, croquet and more. And where you will one day find a marina, residents club, chapel, and a general store.
The Reserve at Lake Keowee features upstate South Carolina’s only Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. The course combines Nicklaus’ mastery of strategically challenging holes with the pristine beauty of The Reserve. Twelve of the holes incorporate natural mountain streams and tributaries in their layout. Lake Keowee serves as the scenic backdrop and water hazard for the 15th green. The remainder of the back nine plays along or near the lake. There are five tee boxes to ensure players of all abilities enjoy their time on the links. This is the first of two planned 18-hole layouts. There is also a 20-acre practice facility with restrooms and a rolling cover for the driving range. Play is year round.
