Golf Real Estate OnLine Courses Make Golfweek's 2007 According the Golfweek Senior Writer, Bradley Klein, "you wouldn't normally associate an enjoyable 'walk in the park' with real estate golf." However, he goes on to say, "Golfweek's 100 Best Residential Golf Courses are a collection of very special layouts that make for a comfortable residential community without compromising the quality of the golf." The course, which opened in late April 2006, has been receiving rave reviews from not only members, but the professional community as well. It was the host venue of the Nationwide Tour's inaugural PalmettoPride Classic last October. “With the addition of the Ralston Creek course to the Daniel Island Club's golf offerings, our goal was to provide members with the finest quality golf experience,” said Matt Sloan, president of The Daniel Island Company. “Rees Jones did a fabulous job. It is an honor to be included on this prestigious list of top new courses.” The Daniel Island Company is the master developer for Daniel Island, a 4,000-acre mixed-use community located within the city limits of Charleston. The ranking are determined by evaluations filed by Golf Digest's panel of 800 low-handicap golf raters, who judge courses in five categories: Shot Values, Design Variety, Resistance to Scoring, Memorability and Aesthetics. “The developers gave us a spectacular piece of property,” commented Rees Jones. “We endeavored to incorporate the stunning backdrop of the natural saltwater marshes and specimen trees into a challenging and memorable golf course. It is always an honor to have your work recognized by such a prestigious award, especially one that is determined by golfers themselves.” Jones continued, “The ultimate measure of success is building an uncontrived course that has enough variety and character to hold the golfer's interest round after round. That is what we have achieved here at Ralston Creek, and what has been recognized by the Golf Digest panelists. This is a course that will stand the test of time for generations of Daniel Island Club members and their families.”
