Montana

Appropriately, we start our journey in the town of Big Sky, Montana, located in the heart of the Gallatin National Forest, 48 miles northwest of Yellowstone National Park. Big Sky not only boasts of great scenery and abundant wildlife but also plays host to some of the best recreation in the state, including trails for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, whitewater rafting and fly fishing.

In addition to two downhill ski areas, Big Sky is home to Spanish Peaks a new 3,500-acre, low density, golf community featuring a par-72, Tom Weiskopf-design golf course.

Idaho

Traveling west, golf in Northern Idaho is breathtaking. The Coeur d'Alene area is home to some 18 golf courses and the Coeur d'Alene Lake features year-round recreation.

Black Rock, an exclusive residential golf community, just minutes from Coeur d'Alene, features 375 homesites ranging from 1/3 to 2 acres. Jim Engh designed Black Rock's original 7,000 yard, championship golf course across rolling hills, cascading water, black rock cliffs and spectacular lake views. The second course at Black Rock is a Tom Weiskopf design, currently under construction.

Wyoming

After crossing the border, our next stop is The Powder Horn Golf Community in Sheridan, Wyoming—a member's haven with mild weather—at 3,800 feet above sea level—lending itself to year-round amenities. Located at the base of the Big Horn Mountains, golf at The Powder Horn is comprised of three nine-hole layouts which offer three distinctive experience. In addition, the club has two practice facilities complete with driving range, multi-tiered putting green, and short-game areas.

Utah

Moving on, Glenwild Golf Club and Spa, located in Park City, Utah, has been pegged the state's premier private golf community. This exclusive, gated community has less than 200 homes and sits on 950-acres which features a magnificent Clubhouse and spa as well as a Tom Fazio-designed championship golf course at its centerpiece.

Colorado

Our Big Sky Country journey ends in Colorado. The first stop is Adam's Mountain Country Club at Adam's Rib Ranch located just south of Eagle, Colorado. Adam's Mountain Country Club features a Tom Weiskopf-designed 7,300-yard, par-72 golf course as well as a driving range with views just as spectacular as those visiable from the course. The layout is situated on a generous 110 acres, some 25-40 acres more than most courses, which enabled Weiskopf the liberty of making the design more forgiving to it's eventual 400 members.

Our final stop is Glacier Club in Durrango, Colorado.
